HEADLIGHT GUARD ASSEMBLY REPAIR (Sheet 1 of 1)
TOOL: Long round nose pliers
Cotter pin (MS24665-285) (2 required)
SUPPLIES:
Lockwasher (MS35338-46) (2 required)
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES:
DISASSEMBLY:
1.
Using pliers, remove cotter pins (A).
Throw cotter pins away.
Remove flat washers (B) and wing nuts (C).
2.
Remove bolts (D) and lockwashers (E).
3.
Throw lockwashers away.
Inspect guard (F), support assembly (G)
4.
and support (H) for cracks, excessive
bends, or excessive corrosion. Replace
parts as necessary.
ASSEMBLY:
1.
Position guard (F) to support (H) and
support assembly (G).
2.
Install bolts (D), flat washers (B), new lockwashers (E), and wing nuts (C) to secure guard to supports.
3.
Using pliers, install new cotter pins (A) through bolts (D).
4.
Install headlight guard assembly (pages 16-70, steps 7, 8, and 9).
