BRAKE CONTROL HOUSING REPAIR (Sheet 7 of 14)
CLEANING AND INSPECTION:
Clean all metallic parts in dry cleaning solvent

(Item 54, Appendix D).
Inspect all parts for damage or wear.
2.
Replace all unserviceable parts.
3.
INSTALLATION:
Install stud (A) and eight studs (B) in housing

assembly (C).
Using 15/16 inch wrench, install plug (D) in

housing assembly (C).
NOTE
If new transmission has been
i n s t a l l e d , remove four nuts and
l o c a t i o n s , and two screws and
(F)
stud
from
locations.
Using 9/16 inch wrench, install two studs (F).
3.
Using 9/16 inch socket and torque wrench,
tighten to 20-25 lb-ft (27-34 N.m).
Using 3/4 inch socket, install four spacer nuts
4.
(E). Using 3/4 inch socket and torque wrench,
tighten to 55-60 lb-ft (74-81 N.m).
