INSPECTION:
Inspect cushioning pads for cracks, tears, or

separation. Replace as required.

Inspect mounting tabs for cracked or broken
welds. Replace as required.
REMOVAL:
Use grinder and grind off old weld holding defective pad.
INSTALLATION:
1.
Using grinder and sandpaper (Item 51, Appendix D), prepare hull surface for welding (TM 9-237).
Cover cushion and surrounding area of new pad with piece of wet asbestos (Item 9, Appendix D).
