Check if static is caused by vehicle electrical
equipment (vehicle not moving).
Second Technician

l Start engine.
l Set PERSONNEL HEATER HI/LO switch
ON - LO.
l Check that LIGHTING CONTROL switch is OFF.
l Set NIGHT VISION switch ON.
l Set VENTILATOR
switch ON.
First Technician
(Commanders

l Turn on radio set (TM 5-5420-226-10).
l Listen for static in radio helmet.
