Before
(1) Check the cutting edges and end bits
for damage or loose or missing
hardware.
The equipment is not
ready/available if the cutting
edges, bolts, or end bits are
missing, or if the cutting edges
or end bits are worn within 19
mm (0.75 in) of the base edge
of the blade.
Before
(2) Check the angle, lift, and tilt cylinders,
and attached hoses for leakage.
The equipment is not
ready/available if class III leaks
are present.
Before
(3) Check the back ripper teeth and
shanks for wear and damage.
The equipment is not
ready/available if a tooth is
worn through, exposing a
retainer, or if any tooth or
shank is missing or damaged,
when the mission requires use
of the ripper.
